Empowered Learning Project -1:1 iPad devices for pupils10.2.22
Dear Parents and Carers,
As you know, the Empowered Learning Project is part of the City of Edinburgh Council’s ambitious and inclusive education strategy, Edinburgh Learns for Life. The investment of £17.6m in our Empowered Learning project will provide a world class digital environment for all learners.
The Empowered Learning Project will give every young person in P6 to S6 an iPad. Shared iPads will be available for use in P1 to P5 and Early Years.
These devices will significantly enhance the learning experience through equity of access, encouraging innovation, evoking imagination, and nurturing a love of learning. The project will create a unique opportunity to unlock the potential of every learner across all schools and allow collaboration and innovation to flourish in our city.
Please watch this launch video to hear more about the Empowered Learning Project and what it will mean for your child.
We also need you to engage with the Home School Agreement and Responsible Use Agreement. These documents are attached here. Please can these be printed and returned to the school at your earliest convenience. If you require a paper copy please contact the school directly.
Please read these documents, discuss them with your child and complete the Form to show that you and your child agree with the content in these Agreements before your child is issued with their iPad.
Lastly, for more information on the project, including a detailed set of FAQs, please have a look here:
The exact date of the deployment of the iPad to your child will be shared with you in the very near future.
