How best to choose a reading book with your children

Dear parents & Carers,

Thanks again to those of you who took the time to complete and return the Health & Wellbeing Survey recently. We are working to include many of your suggestions and feedback into our school Renewal Plan for this year.

Some of the feedback received was a request for help in how best for you and your children to choose a reading book at the appropriate level. As all children progress within reading at a very individual level it can at times be challenging to choose a book and age to suit all. However there are some strategies and approaches you can use to help ensure you choose a book that suits your child’s abilities.

Mrs Aitkin, our Support for Learning teacher has shared some approaches which you will hopefully find useful when choosing reading books. Manny hanks to her for sharing these with us. 🙂
